McCabe's Funeral Home was at Senuta Pro Chiropractic for Saturday's game, which was played at Shrum Field in Derry. It was a close game through five innings with the score still close at 9-7 (McCabes) after 6 innings. The fourth inning was highlighted by two great triples--one by Scott "Digger" Ducheteau (McCabes) followed up by a second three-bagger in the bottom of the inning by returning player Vince Murphy (Senutas). Jeff Hickman (McCabes) hit the third triple in the 6th inning, and followed up with double in the 7th for a big win by McCabes.McCabe's had a break out 7th inning and scored 11 runs, and Senuta's fought back for 4 more runs in the bottom of the 7th. The game ended with the score of 20 to 11. Winning pitcher was Dave Tetkoski and the losing pitcher was Tim Fidele. Other pitchers for McCabe's were Scott McIlnay and Jerry Sopko. Vince Murphy and Tom McKee rounded out the pitchers for Senuta.
Bob "Spider" Krempasky (McCabes) was caught in a well-executed rundown between 2nd and 3rd base for a moment of fun, and umpire John Saunders had both benches laughing after announcing, "McCabes has used up their last and only triple!" following Scott Ducheteau's 4th inning shot to the gap.
